Crisper and cleaner than its East coast cousins with bittering being prominant
1 hop (Nelson Sauvin)
A light & pleasant aroma starts this off & leads us into medium to higher carbonation & a crisp body. The offering settles into a nice blending as you go showing the contributions of this hop you may be unfamiliar with such as a very subtle citrus aspect pairing with the known grape flavor & light bittering. The brewing process seems to be early to mid boil given the above but in no way detracts from the idea of this unusual hop choice. A dry finish to end each sip
As its name implies ... 1 hop (Mosaic)
A crisp, clean start with light bittering. Earthy layers with fruit aspects come forward further in as this warms & blends into the body. Malts are a major contributor to the entire offering but only most subtly. No one aspect of Mosaic is dominant rather nicely layered start to finish.
An interesting choice of hop for a West Coast that creates a milder version of this style that can be enjoyed by almost any craft fan.
3 hops (Citra, Simcoe & Columbus)
Columbus seems the primary hop in this craft imparting woody herbal aromas & a very light dank undertone which does not overpower in any way. Nicely carbonated. Lightl dry with medium bittering. When the fruit layers come forward this offering is tied together in all aspects from woody to herbal ,bitter to fruit.
Refreshingly crisp making it easy to crush a few in a session. Probably the mellowest WC we've reviewed in a while
4 hops (Amarillo,Citra,Mosaic & Simcoe Interesting profile. A drier hop aroma to start. Light bittering & a fruit/floral bouquet brought on by Mosaic and Amarillo. While the body is soft it maintains a WC crispness. Aspects blend and work together throughout.
Bold yet light in nature with a semi dry finish. You don't realize the ABV is 8.5% due to the light nature of this craft.. A unique offering that will satisfy most camps.
3 hops (Citra, Strata and Mosaic)
These 3 always seem to pair well together. Let's find out.
Subtle malt aspects peek out from behind earthy orange and light pine aroma. Light carbonation and lightly crisp body. Consistent light bittering mixes equally with Citra and Mosaic flavors and create a nice balance. A spiced semi dry finish does no harm. Colder is preferred for this craft.
Probably the lightest WC offering yet reviewed. If you shy away from this style step in and try this offering.
4 hops (Amarillo, Centennial, Chinook and Simcoe)
Slight notes of orange aroma. Changes come from there drifting into what is a true WC craft. Light representation of fruit influence for balance and bittering staying true the the style.
All aspects are light to medium and pure WC in taste and body. WC fans give this a try
2 hops (Chinook and Vic Secret) 7%
Semi dry fruit aroma. Medium to high carbonation. Chinook is the dominant hop and provides the expected bittering throughout, Vic Secret gives the offering enough layering to provide balance. How do you find this hop in this craft. Holding the sip gives you its contribution and blends the 2 nicely. A softer body than some WC offerings
Fans of this style will do well to give it a try
5 hops (Amarillo, Centennial, Simcoe, Cascade and Chinook). 6.8%
With so many hops identifying who is responsible for what may be moot. With that said ...
Pleasant fruit aroma. Flavoring and bittering are equal partners throughout each sip. Medium carbonation. Holding the sip tangerine peeks through and greets subtle orange notes. An earthy bottom as you end each sip. Bittering is the final actor.
Consistency of all the above is what matters and this doesn't disappoint. A well done offering .
